On Monday, August 31, 2015, it was announced that the Jake Gibbs Letterwinner Walk would be constructed in the new north plaza. Since its unveiling in Summer 2017, it has felt the feet of thousands of Ole Miss students and alumni as they entered Vaught Hemingway Stadium to watch the Rebels play. The columns lining the Walk feature the names of every student-athlete that has earned a varsity letter at the University of Mississippi dating back to 1893. We love getting to showcasing those individuals that built Ole Miss Athletics into what it is today. We hope it has been a source of pride for our letterwinners and their families and continues to encourage them to come back to campus and get involved in the M-Club.

The Jake Gibbs Letterwinner Walk is located at the north end zone plaza of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Named in honor of Gibbs, an Ole Miss legend who played both football and baseball for the Rebels and coached as well. He helped Ole Miss win the 1961 Sugar Bowl and shared the national championship that year. The columns lining the Walk feature the names of every student-athlete that has earned a varsity letter at the University of Mississippi dating back to 1893. This is a great tribute to showcasing those individuals that built Ole Miss Athletics into what it is today. It is a source of pride for the letterwinners and their families and encourages them to come back to campus and get involved in the M-Club.

Also located at the north end zone plaza of Vaught-Hemingway is the Lloyd Bell Tower. It was funded and supported by Bob Lloyd, his brothers Ted and Ben, and their late father, William B. “Cosmo” Lloyd. The game day Walk of Champions will culminate with players walking through the Lloyd Bell Tower. The Lloyds, who grew up playing catch in the Grove and still tailgate in the same spot each year, hope their gift to the Forward Together campaign will help Ole Miss continue to build a powerhouse program.
